Step 1 Accept the Admission Offer Online

Confirm the offer and pay the deposit to confirm your acceptance.
Tip: Offers are only considered accepted when both online acceptance and deposit payment are completed.

Step 2 Begin the Student Visa Application (for International Students)

Apply for the Student Visa (X visa) upon receiving the paper admission notice and JW 202/201 Form. All international students are required to obtain a student visa from the local Chinese embassy or consulate to enter China. Learn more
Tip: Students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must hold a valid Mainland Travel Permit.

Step 3 Submit Documents to Verify Your Qualification

Arrange official transcripts and other necessary documentation to be sent directly by the issuing authorities by the deadline stipulated in the offer letter/ Document Checklist. Learn more

Step 4 Send your Archive to the Archives Management Department at HKUST(GZ) (for Chinese Mainland Applicants ONLY)

Arrange your archive (档案) being sent to the Archives Management Department once your offer has been confirmed.

Step 5 Program Registration with HKUST(GZ)

Check out the invitation for program registration and complete it according to the instructions. It is expected to be conducted in mid-August for Fall entry or mid-January for Spring entry.

Step 6 On-campus Registration and New Students Welcome Week at HKUST(GZ)

Check out the invitation for on-campus registration and arrive at the campus on time with the required documents according to the instructions. All students shall complete the on-campus registration and attend the Welcome Week as announced.
